What is the common substance between coffee whitener, cake, biscuit, and hamburger?
Hamburger, the meal I used to ingest insanely when I was a university student.
They are the Hydrogenated Oils, or what they are called "Trans Fat".
What makes fruit tart, breakfast cereals, the commercially produced peanut butter, and all kinds of desserts, a killing poison we ingest with passion without feeling guilty nor worried about a sudden death as a result of what we add to our bodies?
The same answer again, it is because they all contain Hydrogenated Oils.
What types of foods contain hydrogenated oils?
We are not exaggerating when we say that we consume those killing fats everyday and in most our meals, but they are shaped in different ways. They are hidden in the colorful product containers in all their forms and tastes, and they are neatly lined in supermarkets.
The amount of hydrogenated oils varies from one product to another. They are shaped differently as in Margarine and vegetable frying oils that are used more than once for frying.
The following products contain hydrogenated oils:
Different types of coffee whiteners.
Cake cream, which is not produced from dairy.
The commercially produced bread with all its types.
Different types of biscuits.
Fruit tart.
Desserts.
Breakfast cereals.
The commercially produced peanut butter.
French fries.
Fast food fries.
Frozen potatoes.
Frozen dough.
Vegetable frying oils used more than once.

But what do we mean by "Hydrogenated oils or hydrogenated fats"?
Hydrogenated fats are made as a result of the high exposure of vegetable oils to heat and pressure. Then Hydrogen is added to turn the liquid oils into solid fats or semi-solid fats. Unlike animal fats, they do not contain hydrogen, so they are more solid than the hydrogenated vegetable fats.

Why Hydrogen is added to vegetable oils during the manufacturing process?
The only reason is the commercial benefit. Products produced from hydrogenated oils last longer, their tastes are more delicious, and they are cheaper to restaurant owners because they are used for several times for frying without making a difference in taste.
What are the negative effects of these unhealthy hydrogenated oils?
Hydrogenated oils contain Trans Fatty Acids which put the safety of the heart in danger. They increase the LDL cholesterol levels in the body, cause diabetes 2, obesity, accumulation of fats around the abdomen, and some types of cancer.

Why it is bad to re-use oil used for frying?
Vegetable oils are good for health. They are way better than margarine. But when they are used for more than one time, they will be more dangerous because increasing the temperature of vegetable oils changes the chemical bonds of oil. This leads to the oxidation and hydrogenation of oils producing the free radicals which may harm the healthy body cells and may cause cancer too.
How do we know if the product contains hydrogenated oils? Have a look at the product cover and search for these sentences:
Cholesterol-free
Animal fat-free
Hydrogenated vegetable oils
Partially hydrogenated vegetable oils

Why we should avoid foods containing hydrogenated oils?
The human body can not digest these fats. As a result, they last in the body for a long time, then they turn into accumulated fats causing overweight and stomach troubles.

Then what things we need to consume as alternatives to those hydrogenated oils?
Simply, you can either consume vegetable oils in their natural forms or the animal fats.
Corn oil, sunflower oil, cottonseed oil, palm oil, coconut oil or what is called rapeseed oil and virgin olive oil are the best types of vegetable oils.

To enjoy a healthy life, we advise you to include fats in your meals even if you are on a diet, but you need to count the amount of fats your meals have. The recommended daily intake of fat is 15% which provides the human body with the needed energy and vitamins and gives a sense of satiety.
Did you know that a meal of fried chicken or French fries contains 4 grams of hydrogenated fats whereas 3 pieces of biscuits contain 2.5 grams of saturated fat, and one piece of donuts contains 5 grams of hydrogenated oils. Knowing that the recommended daily intake of fat, according to the American Heart Association, is only 2 grams.
Count how many grams of fat you consume daily, and the decision then is YOURS to maintain your health and your family health.
