They are not alcohol, industrial substances nor colorings, yet they exist in every day meals. We usually eat them in special occasions and parties in large amounts. They are the three white poisons; Salt, Sugar and White Flour.
What a shock for those who love donuts, pancakes with corn syrup, pastries, baked bread, salty crackers and potato chips!
Yet unfortunately, this is the bitter truth. If you care about your health, then you have to know the risks of consuming these 3 foods on a daily basis in huge amounts.
Salt raises blood pressure and destroys your bones! Salt causes many diseases. According to nutrition experts, salt is known as “Sodium”. Consuming large amounts of it may hinder the process of calcium absorption in the body which may lead to osteoporosis.

Here some of the possible health risks related to salt and sodium:

  • Reduce the amount of salt while preparing your meals.

  • Avoid Ketchup, mayonnaise and prepared pizza and salad dressings. Replace these flavors with apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar.

    Sugar is the archenemy of beauty as it causes premature wrinkles and leads to pale complexion eventually.

  • Low body immunity which leads to various diseases.
  • Reducing the absorption of the necessary nutrients such as chromium, copper, magnesium and calcium.

    No health benefits from white flour!
    White flour is a milled and refined wheat. During the process of refining, white flour loses all the necessary nutrients and lacks its health benefits.

    What are the harmful effects of eating white flour on a daily basis?
  • White flour contains unhealthy food additives that are used during the process of refining for some purposes such as; fermentation of the dough and hiding the fungi in flour which may appear during flour storage. Using these food additives may lead to many digestive problems.
  • White flour is rich in potassium. Consuming too much amounts of potassium may cause nausea and vomiting.
  • In fact, chlorine dioxide used in white bread enters in the pesticide industry. Despite the fact that this material is not used largely in white bread, yet it would be harmful if taken frequently.
  • Eating white flour may increase the risk of obesity.

  • Foods that contain white flour are: all types of baked foods, pasta and desserts (unless they’re made from wheat bran)
    What is the alternative?
    Oats, whole wheat, wheat bran, chia and flax seeds, rice flour, almond flour, and all foods made from these alternatives.
    Note: Do not be fooled by the term “brown bread” because many factories -for some commercial purposes- add an industrial dye to the white flour which makes the white bread look brown in color.
